A Complaint Against Bernard Spitzer

Bernard Spitzer will take the stand in his own defense in Bronx courtroom tomorrow against charges that four African-Americans were improperly fired  at one the building he owns, according to a plaintiff in the case.

Anthony Hayden, 43, of Brooklyn, one of the four plaintiffs, said he'll be at court tomorrow to see Spitzer, father of the former governor, testify.

Hayden said he and the three other men, Akim Rodriguez, Leonard Boyce, and Trevor Morris, were all fired within two weeks of one another, and were replaced by people who are "Caucasian, or white-Hispanic."

"To this day, there are no black people working in that building," Hayden said.

When asked if he was accusing the Spitzers of being racist, Hayden paused and said, "I would like to hope that they're not, but as the way this situation turns out to be, it looks like they are."

The racial discrimination suit filed by four African Americans against billionaire Bernard Spitzer, father of disgraced Governor Eliot Spitzer, will finally go to trial tomorrow, November 21st at the Bronx Superior Court located at 161st Street and Grand Concourse in the Bronx. Proceedings are expected to begin at 9:30 am in Room 707 and Bernard Spitzer is expected to testify first in the trial.
