Skelos Still Wants Vote

ALBANY -- Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos just told David Paterson that he still intends to vote on his deficit reduction proposal if it is introduced, and the two are in show down now.

"We are ready to act on your bills today, and again you are accusing us of derailing the process," Skelos said during a public leaders meeting going on now in the Red Room. "Governor, today the Senate is prepared to honor your request and vote on your bills should you send them to the Senate."

"I really would hate to see a special session not completed because of semantics," Paterson replied. "What I'm saying, so I can clarify it for you, is the same thing in August: I put the bills out, I allowed all of you to make corrections, make adjustments."
