6:30 p.m. Jeff Mardrick, author of The Case for Big Government, lectures at Cooper Union's Great Hall, seven East 7th Street. He will sign books after. 6:30 p.m. Deputy Mayor Dennis Walcott receives the Distinguished Public Leadership Award from the YMCA of Greater New York at Kum Gang San Restaurant, 138-28 Northern Boulevard in Flushing.
