From PolitickerPA reported Dan Hirschhorn, at the National Governors Association in Philadelphia:

David Paterson reiterated today that he would take his time in choosing a Senate replacement for Hillary Clinton, and that no announcement would be made until after she is confirmed as secretary of state by the Senate.

“I think I can take time and make the right decision,” he told reporters in Philadelphia after more than three dozen governors met with Barack Obama about the financial crisis.

Paterson said he would be looking for someone who, among other things, sees “crises as opportunities.”

He also praised Obama and Joe Biden for holding the meeting at such a relatively early point in the transition process.

“The president-elect and vice president-elect really made us feel they wanted to hear our points of view,” Paterson said.
